I have a detached vitreous at 23, is it normal?

I was diagnosed with a detached vitreous, I am only 23 yrs old. I have been experiencing flashing lights and floaters, one in particular. The opthMologist said it was a detaching vitreous. I know what it is but is it unusual at my age?
