Which colony was most ethnically and religiously diverse in the beginning of the 18th century?
Texas and most of Souther States i.e Spanish, French, Native-Indians, Scotch-Irish. Scottish. Irish. Germans. Mexicans. Hispanics. Welsh and African-Americaans. Yes there were many Ethnicities during the 18th century in Southern USA. Even some Poles in the South too. South was more diversed then any colony during the 18th century. Its just sometimes you dont heart about them or aren't taught about them other then the civil-war and Confederate army, not to mention the Accent too. Talking of the Southern-Accent it's mainly from African-American and Spanish with few Welsh dialects who spoke English.
