In the 4th and 5th Centuries Irish Settlers settled in several areas along the west coast of England. One site was in Cornwall, a site in SW Wales and at a site in what is now Southern Scotland. The most successful was the site in Southern Scotland which over time spread over most of the lowland areas and pushed the Picts up into the Northern Highlands.
